Pet Crafts

Making items for our pets is one way to show them we love them. Even if you aren't a "crafty" person, you can create a cute craft for your pet. Take a look at some crafts you can make. Some are easy for children too!

Our clinic has held a few Pet Craft events. Take a look at some of the photos here.

Tug Toy

Items needed: Fleece and scissors

  1. Cut fleece into three strips. Cut each strip 2 inches wide by 18 inches long.
  2. Tie strips together at one end. Braid strips and tie knot at the end.

For smaller dogs, cut strips shorter. For larger dogs, cut strips wider.

Catnip Pillows

Items needed: Scraps of fabric, scissors, needle, thread, a few pins, stuffing (fiberfill or batting) and catnip (make sure the catnip is green - if it gray or brown, it doesn't smell as good)

  1. Cut fabric into two 4 inch squares.
  2. Pin the fabric together so the pretty side of the fabrics are touching each other.
  3. Sew around 3 edges and turn your pillow inside out. Now the pretty side of the fabric is on the outside.
  4. Stuff the pillow with your stuffing and add a couple teaspoons of catnip.
  5. Sew up the open edge.
